18. Image Filter

Sometimes the users wish to import shapes of structures known only from graphical images of their sections, and to perform such import into the electromagnetic software. The images may be coming from photography or tomography. Thus in version 6.5 we are introducing a new module called Image Filter (img2udo.m and a set of supporting *.m files). It is designed to generate UDO scripts describing closed contours of different media, distinguished on a digital picture by a specific gray scale level. Colour pictures are converted to grey scale before the actual UDO conversion. Refer to Section UG 2.10.3 for more details. 

Note: Image Filter is provided on the installation CD as a set of Matlab™ scripts. Thus only the users with a valid Matlab™ licence may profit from its direct application. Upon the users' request, QWED will consider a stand-alone implementation of the Image Filter.
