Since 2020, the Ukrainian Microwave Week unites several international conferences traditionally held in Ukraine and covering the topics of microwaves, antennas and radar technologies. The focus of the 2022 Week was on Microwaves, Millimeter and Submillimeter Waves, Antenna Theory and Techniques, Radar and Remote Sensing, Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals, Electromagnetic Direct and Inverse Problems, Electromagnetic Theory, Geomagnetism and Acoustics.
The 2022 IEEE 2nd Ukrainian Microwave Week was sponsored by IEEE, EuMA, and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, which originally had also been planned to host the event in June 2022. Due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the Week was postponed till November and organised remotely. It remained of high scientific quality, as one more demonstration of proof of the resilience of the people of Ukraine.
It was therefore with honour and pleasure that QWED contributed to the Week. Dr. Malgorzata Celuch served as member of the Techncial Programme Committee. She also gave an invited lecture on “Microwave characterisation and modelling of materials in European initiatives”. Last but not least, greatly supported by the NanoBat project consortium and IEEE Women in Engineering (and specifically – the speakers of a sister event held at MIKON-MRW in Gdansk in September 2022), she organised a Women in Engineering Meeting, where professional and personal experiences were shared in support of the Ukrainian (and specifically female) researchers.
